Nicole Wray’s makeup in Missy Elliott’s “All N My Grill”
Steve McQueen and Lupita Nyong’o attend the 2014 Film Independent Spirit Awards at Santa Monica Beach on March 1, 2014 in Santa Monica, California.
Unfortunately, Fox has cancelled The X-Factor USA - the talent competition show won’t be returning this Fall. In memoriam, I wanted to do a tribute to all the hair and makeup looks Kelly Rowland’s glam team created for the chanteuse during the show’s three seasons. With makeup by celebrity makeup artist Sheika Daley and celebrity hairstylists Cesar Ramirez and Crystal Oliver on hair, here are 13 of Rowland’s most riveting appearances:
Celebrity makeup artist Sheika Daley used Koh Gen Do Moisture Foundation in 302. The sultry lip is Giorgio Armani Rouge d’Armani Lipstick in #517, which is discontinued. However, MAC Lipstick in Full Fuchsia is a dupe. Daley used Stila Eye Shadow in Diamond Lil, a shimmering, metallic platinum, for Rowland’s dramatic, sultry gaze. Rounding out the look is MAC Sheertone Blush in Loverush (discontinued). Erica from The Glamorous Gleam named e.l.f. Studio blush in Blushing Rose as a dupe for Loverush.
Get the beat: Koh Gen Do Moisture Foundation in 302, Iman Perfect Response Oil Blotting Pressed Powder in Earth Medium, Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes in Matte Black, MAC Eyeshadow in Carbon, Bare Minerals Liner Shadow in Humor, NARS Blush in Dolce Vita, MAC Lip Liner in Cork, and NARS Lip Lacquer in Chelsea Girl.
Celebrity hairstylist Cesar Ramirez created Rowland’s asymmetric bob w/ undercut with Indique Hair Natural Wave with Redken Root Lift & Fashion Works Hairspray.

There are so many great beauty items currently on sale at my favorite e-tailers so I’ll make this quick. Here are some of my most revered beauty finds you must check out this week:
1. Ardell Lashes Color Impact Lash Demi Wispies in Blue, on sale for $3.49
Celebrity makeup artist Nick Barose chatted with Harper’s Bazaar about the look he created for actress Lupita Nyong’o at last night’s Non-Stop LA Premiere. Pantone’s spring 2014 color is Dazzling Blue, so it was fitting for Nyong’o to arrive with a set of metallic, bedazzled blue peepers to complement her copper Lanvin creation. Bypassing blue mascara, Barose instead applied Ardell Lashes Color Impact Lash Demi Wispies in Blue. He then coated the base of the falsies with DiorShow Black Out Mascara. Other options include Wine and Plum, both on sale for $3.49 each.
I don’t think I can imagine a time when Lupita Nyong’o won’t be a red carpet sweetheart after this year. To reiterate what has been said this entire awards season, she’s undeniably flawless.
P.S. Deborah Lippman Limited Edition Rock This Town Set is on sale for $25. The set features three striking shades: Moon Dance, Chain Reaction and Phoenix Rising. Nyong’o’s SAG Awards red carpet nail look consisted of a layer of Swagga Like Us followed with a coat of Chain Reaction.
